His Majesty arrives in Moscow

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in the Russian Federation this evening for a two-day state visit.


An official reception ceremony was held for His Majesty the Sultan at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow. His Majesty the Sultan was received at the plane's steps by Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, officials from the Russian Federation, and members of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Moscow.

His Majesty the Sultan inspected the Guard of Honor, then proceeded to the podium, where the Omani Royal Anthem and the Russian National Anthem were played.


An official reception ceremony will be held for His Majesty the Sultan on Tuesday at the Kremlin in the Russian capital, Moscow, during which he will meet with President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders will hold official talks.


His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik visits the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Alexander Garden in the Red Square in Moscow. The visit comes within the context of His Majesty’s current state-visit to the Russian Federation.

Earlier, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik left for the Russian Federation on a two-day state visit, during which he will meet with President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation.


The visit, made in response to an invitation by the Russian President, underlines the advanced relations between Oman and Russia.


His Majesty the Sultan was seen off at the Royal Airport by HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers; HH Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan; HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, Khalid bin Hilal al Ma’awali, Chairman of the Shura Council; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council; Nasr bin Hamoud al Kindi, Secretary General of the Royal Court Affairs; Dr. Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shibani, Minister of Education; Sheikh al Fadl bin Mohammed al Harthy, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers; Lt.Gen Hassan bin Mohsin al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs; Lt.Gen Said bin Ali al Hilali, Head of the Internal Security Service; Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces; Maj.Gen Mattar bin Salim al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman; Air Vice Marshal Khamis bin Hammad al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman; Rear Admiral Saif bin Nassir al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman; and Maj.Gen Musallam bin Mohammed Jaaboub, Commander of the Sultan’s Special Force.


His Majesty the Sultan is accompanied during the visit by a high-ranking official delegation comprising HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen.
